These terms apply when you use astheywere.com ("As They Were", "we", "us"), which is run by App Business Ventures LLC. By placing an order you agree to them.

What we sell

Restoration of old photos. You upload a photo; we repair damage such as scratches, tears, stains and fading with AI, add natural colour to black-and-white photos, and deliver full-resolution digital files on your order page and by email. Our products are created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). Each one is made for you and is unique, so results vary: two orders with the same details can come out differently.

Photo restoration: Restorations are made by AI. They repair damage and add likely colours; they are not an exact record of how the original looked. Parts of a photo that are missing or badly damaged are filled in to match and may not be exact.

Your order and your content

• You must be at least 18 years old to order.
• You confirm that you have the right to share what you send us (names, stories, photos) and that it doesn't break anyone's rights or the law. Only upload photos of people who agreed to it, or of your own children.
• We may refuse or stop an order whose content is hateful, sexual, violent, threatening, defamatory or illegal, or that uses other people's trademarks or copyrighted material. If we refuse a paid order, we refund it.
• You keep any rights you have in what you send us. You give us permission to use it only to make, deliver and support your order.

What you get

When you've paid, you may use your restored photos for any personal purpose: keep them, print them, frame them, give them as gifts and share them on social media. Using them in advertising needs our written permission. Any rights in the original photo stay with whoever holds them. We don't claim that AI-made content can be registered for copyright.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown before you pay and include everything for digital products unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Promo codes can't be combined unless stated.

Delivery

Digital products are delivered by email and on your order page, usually within minutes. If something goes wrong on our side and we can't deliver, we refund you in full. Keep the link to your order page: anyone with it can open your order. Download links stay available for 30 days after delivery.

Limits

We provide the service "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is the amount you paid for it, and we aren't liable for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the version in force when you ordered applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. Questions: support@astheywere.com.
